The thing is....my dog is BY FAR the coolest and MOST loving dog (next to maybe Nanabear)that there is. She is THE most loving, most gentle, most nurturing, most mellow, sweetest, most wonderful dog there is. SERIOUSLY. She's the dog from the movies that you always wish you had.
Her name is Ms. Sadie Benz, and we call her Sad.
She was the twinkle of my eye....and then came Sydney. Sadie was TOTALLY kicked to the curb. I tried to make a come back and then BAM...the boys were born.
She turns to the kids a lot for attention...it's the most pathetic attempt to get love when you stick your head towards a 5 month old....but what do I expect.
I love her with all of my heart. She is like I have said before...the best.
Sadie LOVES to play ball. She will drop it and bat it to you (or because I don't play with her anymore, the kids) This is Sadie playing with Spencer.
Notice how her eyes NEVER leave the ball.
"Throw it, come on throw it for me"
Dear Sadie,
Mommy loves you. I'm sorry that I don't show it more.
I promise to pet you more often....and the reason I'm not yelling at you as often when you bark and wake up the kids is not JUST because Sydney started to yell at you and I didn't want to show a bad example....but because I REALLY and TRULY don't want to yell at you anymore. (please don't bark if someone walks passed the house and wake up my sleeping children any more....school lets out at the same time EVERY day and has done for the 6 years that we've lived here)
Oh and PLEASE go outside when I'm frantically telling you to, when you start horking up the entire 3 cups of food that you just snarfed down, instead of running in to different rooms because you are afraid of me yelling at you and getting overly excited trying to get you to go outside which scares you and then you end up throwing up on several different areas of the house versus just one room.
Because your throw up unlike baby throw up makes me want to throw up....and I sure as shit know that you aren't going to clean it up, although you have tried and that makes me sick too.
Love you Sad.
xoxo,
Mom

How funny. My Max got kicked to the curb too. His ful ame is Maxmillian Oedipus Bonforte. He earned his name because he is most certainly in love with his Mama. But I have to let you know, there is no sweeter creature on the planet than my Max. What if he and Sadie had kids? That would be awesome, except My boy has been fixed, so I guess that's out.
You know I love the doggies and your Sadie is one of my favorites! I am glad you decided to include her in your blog. She is so sweet and gentle and truely is a "good" dog!
I love that! I love Sadie too!!! She is one of the sweetest dogs ever. I've never thought about Riley picking up on us yelling at the dogs when they bark. Definitely something to think about.
What an adorable pup!
My boy Sumner was kicked to the curb in an unbelievable way. Pete was home no more than 2 days and he was off to the vet to have what turned out to be a fatty tumor removed. When he came back, his world was turned up side down by our first. He is 13 years old now and the sweetest dog to our kids. They are his to watch over and protect, even though his hearing is about shot and he can't see the little buggers coming most of the time. Before his hearing started to go, I would barricade him in our room to keep him from waking Pete during naps. It would drive me nuts when he would bark (at nothing most of the time!) and wake her! Pete doesn't reprimand him as much these days as she sneaks him food. They are always up to no good.
She looks sweet! Dogs are fantastic, and so tolerant. Ivy was always our baby, so much so that she travels everywhere with us. After Ryan came into the picture, life obviously changed in a big way for her but she's quite a trooper and has accepted being second fiddle to her baby sis.
Aww so cute. We currently are without a dog.The Mr and I had a little dog that looked exactly like toto. He was our baby and his name was Rhowdie. We took him everywhere with us. He was part pomerainian, part poodle. He survived the birth of homecoming of three kids. he got older and crankier. He was hard of hearing and had cataracts. I took him to the vet to be put to sleep. The vet was a bitch to me and told me that his heart was fine that she wouldn't do it. I told her he was peeing on everything, and what kind of quality of life would he have? She said he was healthy, so I struggled with the decision and brought him home. We moved into our current house. We werent there 10 days, the Mr let him out to go to the bathroom. He went across the street and that ws the last we saw of him. He never came back. He got disorientated and wondered up a few blocks to a busy dtreet. He was run over.I looked for days for him, i called my friends, I put out flyers, I went to the shelters. My one friend finally told me that she had found his mangled body on the busy street. She wanted to be sure that it was him, that he didn't come home before she told me.That was two aganizing weeks after he dissappeared.
What a beautiful dog you have! She looks so precious! Thanks for sharing...
Nailgirl - Wow - must be hard to hear the news. I had tears.
It was t!! Especially since Rhowdie was run over by a car at three years of age. He almost died and it cost me $1,200 to save him.
Can you write a letter to my dogs for me? I'm just too ridden with guilt to do it myself. LOL. Makana and Rocko try to go to A & J for love too - and I usually catch the tail end of a french kiss. I don't know why when my dogs kiss my kids, my kids open their mouths as wide as they can!!
Ahhh how sweet. That is a cute dog, and I don't really like dogs, but she is cute.
That's cute! Sadie is a sweetheart.. The same thing happend with our dogs from me, but not from La. :)
