The last ounces of formula were distributed to my boys last night.
J went to the store and bought some Vitamin D milk and this morning I handed each boy...not a bottle, but a sippy cup of cows milk.
Cameron immediately started crying and batted the sippy away. Spencer took it and began playing with it. My heart ached.
I remember Sydney weaning herself. First off of breast milk and then off of bottles. She wouldn't take them any more. Right before she turned one, she said to hell with it and stopped. The boys haven't done that. I've been waiting for them to lead me, let me know that they are ready to move on. Hasn't happened.
Spencer takes table foods like a pro. We are having to work with Cam a little. He spits stuff out, pulls faces.
The kid will eat rocks, wood chips, sand, and paper....but give him a piece of banana and OH MY GOD !
They both ate malt-o-meal for breakfast and after, with me holding it, drank approx. 4oz of milk.
They are growing up ! (you can now HEAR my heart crying)

Oh no.. you better have another! haha
Wow.. When are the boys exact birthdays? That's so hard when they start growing up, but you'll save so much money not buying formula thats for sure! Poor Cam, he just isn't quite ready to grow up.. :(
I can hear your heart from the Ohio. Weaning Pete from the bottle was awful, she went for 4 months without drinking milk. Finally, she started drinking it if we put Ovaltine in it. The twins, they dropped bottles in a drink of an eye and never looked back. Lazy suckers still won't drink out of a sippy. Thankfully, straw cups work just fine. They grow up way too fast.
Kori- They are 1 on Thursday.
That's what J kept saying when I asked her to go buy more formula :)
T- Syd wouldn't take a bottle anymore, but she wouldn't drink milk either. Finally we added strawberry and she drank gallon after gallon :)
The boys drink their sisters sippy's ALL of the time. They have water and juice in sippy's but we've been pretty careful with milk (because of possible allergies)
I hope it goes smoothly. I hope Cam will eat table food :)
Ah BIG BOYS now! I love one year olds. I think it is the funnest age. We are excited for the party!
I can't believe they're almost a year old already! No more bottles. That's a tough one. I don't look forward to that day.
I started putting two ounces of lacto free in Camerons milk about a month ago. Then four ounces, now he is completely on lacto free milk. He is finally finally eating table food like a pro. I still give him baby food and cereal three times a day because of his cleft thing. But he is making so much progress in the eating dept. Try putting a little formula in with the cows milk and do it gradually. I thought that's how you were suppossed to do it anyway.
They grow up so quickly... Dont worry you want a few more to add to the family- you'll be bottle feeding again in no time! :)
i know, it's totally depressing! Ryan went from the breast to the cup so there was no bottle weaning but it was certainly depressing. time to start planning for another? ; )
We won't talk about weaning from the bottle, ok? I have a hard time watching them grow up too - especially when they are as cute as yours!
awww they grow so fast!
So they are really not babies anymore!! How did that happen so fast?
Karen! It's time for another (and I don't mean a drink- well maybe that too)!
