First I want to thank......

my wife for standing by me through it all. Well except when they made her sit for the epidural.
I want to thank my children, for not breaking the camera equipment, bones or each other during filming.
I want to thank my supportive blogger peeps for the encouraging words. even if it was just for some free shit. :) oh and winners will be announced tomorrow.

SOOOOOOO, wadja think ? Be honest. Only comment if your honest opinion is good though. I can't take the bad. No really. What did you think ?

We had a small premier party tonight and watched the show with some of our closest friends.
I don't normally let stress take affect on my body but I gotta tell ya....well...maybe I don't gotta tell ya. Let's just say that I'm feeling MUCH better now that it's over. ha ha

I commented on the last post....but I LOVED it and thought you guys were awesome. Truly. And I love that my wifey is sitting here watching the replay She is saying how cute you two are, and that you guys talk to each other the way we talk to each other!
Really, it was GREAT!
Okay, back to the tv for round two. Forget that my alarm clock goes off in 6 hours.

*weeping* I found your blog when I was doing IVF and I have been following, silently. Tonight I told my husband to make sure to remind me that your show was on, I have a 4 month old and need reminding! It was like I finally met these friends I felt like I already knew.I know this sounds weird and sappy, but the internet can be such a remote and lonely place. You became "real" tonight. The show is still on, I have to go watch the rest :) Still *weepy* Glad to meet you, finally. If Steph and Carey (findingchaos.com) get a show I may fall apart!

I LOVED the show. I thought it showed your active, bright childrens' personalities very well. You and your wife came off as loving each other, loving your kids and very competent. I thought your house was a bit clean for having so many small kids, but that is my own little pet peeve.
You weren't the least bit onry, what is up with that? Well done and I hope you don't have any regrets about doing it.

I'm stuck at work and haven't seen it yet!!!! I've got it recorded though. Can't wait!

It was awesome! Loved how the whole lesbian family thing was so casual and understated and mater-of-fact. Maybe this county IS moving forward!

My twins kick my butt! You handle it all so well that it gives me a standard to rise to.

The banter and interaction were both great!

LOVED IT... you guys were great!! I loved how you touched on the IF bit too and all the worry... Your labor was amazing. You are my hero for that alone. Damn woman. That was impressive. You were like "oh... you ready for me to push out the second one? Here J, hold the baby for a sec..." Awesome.

Thank you for sharing your world with us. Your family is beautiful.

On a side note, guess we need to have some more babies so we can have a TV show too, huh?? (at least for Tina's sake) :)

I just emailed you...but I'll say it here too...

I LOVED IT! It was awesome, and you guys are just sooooo lovable.

I love you guys, really!!

And WHO was that fabulous photographer at the end? :P

It was amazing, I loved every minute of it.

OMG We LOVED IT!!!!! We have it saved. YOU are supermom, and the two of you are adorable, and the kids are amazing.

The show was great! However despite looking fabulous during labor (by far the best looking woman I've ever seen in labor - it was like a soap opera birth - perfect hair, make up and barely broke a sweat and bam 2 babies are born), you were not the star of the show. Seriously, Syd totally stole the show! Syd was awesome. I'm sure the agents are calling already trying to book Syd on her own show.

I just watched for the second time - I didn't notice the first time, but nice tat on the back! Bullseye for the epidural or what! I love how J put her hand up to slow Cam coming in for a smooch on one of the babies - totally something I had to do with Malcolm, a mommy reflex or something. Syd is definitely the other mother - let me know when she's available to babysit! I just can't get enough of your cute family!

Stacie said...

I loved it! It was so cute when Syd introduced you all at the beginning. (do I see star in her future or what?) The boys are total cuties, too! Plus, you two are such a sweet couple!

Bravo!

I also loved that the two mom thing was presented so casual and normal - as it should be. The kids were adorable and the moms came across so patient, loving and fun.

JS said...

Oh my gosh, how could I forget to mention Sydney's cute little laugh when she said she's having two more brothers very soon!! That's when the tears started for me. Seriously, have the agents started calling for her yet??

We loved it! It was sooo funny and great. We laughed all the way through. The kids are so cute! Even cuter than I imagined (which I didn't think was possible)! We are hoping hoping hoping this becomes a series!!! In more serious news, it was just so lovely to see a two-mom family with such normal kids and a normal life. I think it was even more appropriate in this post Prop 8 environment. Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us.

Amy said...

I have to agree with everyone - the show was awesome! You and the family looked wonderful and it was very entertaining. Fingers crossed that you guys get picked up for a series - you guys are much better than J&K plus 8!!

My partner and I watched with delight and got so excited every time you said DUDE! It was a great show, so exciting to see a 2-mom family that's clearly full of love and laughter. That's our goal at the end of our adoption journey. Thanks!

I absolutely LOVED the show!! The kids are all so cute! I have been reading the blog since before the latest little guys were born. Keep up the good work!

I didn't get to see it! I don't have Discovery. :( I loved the clips. You are so calm and natural. Anyway to catch it online? I love the other comments- sounds like you look like a movie star during labor- very impressive!!! So glad it went well.

You were AWESOME!!!!!! I watched it with my husband and 11 year old daughter....because of this blog, I felt like you were close friends!!! It was VERY well done-Syd is ADORABLE!!! You have got your hands full, lady :)

My partner and I watched it at 10pm here in Kansas. We loved it..it was real and honest and the life of many in our community raising children. You two were truly a beacon of light in the midst of all of the controversy surrounding our community, our rights as partners, and our ability as parents. I am glad that mainstream America was able to see your family and see that we are not all that different that other families. Many of my fellow United Methodist Church members were very excited about your show and it truly lived up to expectations!

beans said...

Well, we just watched and it was GREAT! I agree with Catherine in that I sort of felt like it was magic that all these characters that I have been reading about for over a year were now in real life on TV in front of me. I was like "oh, that's so and so, and that's the van they named, and Dr. Hotty" I think my partner wanted me to shut up-but I didn't. She said something about watching it later when I am not home. Syd did awesome and how much is she-and all of them going to love having this for all time to look back on. You all did wonderfully and I thank you for sharing yourself with us!!

Girl.... we LOVED it. Kris thought it was so neat that I knew you :) She laughed when I started talking about Dr. Hottie and how we talked about that we both have Dr. Hottie's :). It was really neat to see you guys on TV and in real life. It was awesome! I saved it on my DVR to watch again... and I NEVER hardly watch anything twice... so that is something special ;) Oh we really loved it at the end when Syd got puke on her hand. That was way cute! Kris is ready to come to Utah to meet you guys now.. she thought you guys were really neat peeps!

I was laughing and feeling bad for you all at the same time. I thought you did really well with all of the little ones...You have a very, very full house which I think is great! Congrats to all of you!!!!

Cris said...

honest, honest, honest....the show was fabulous! I think it truly portrayed both of you how you really are and the kids were so much fun to watch! Syd was great...what a little grown-up she is! I had so much fun watching it...even Michael loved it! Afterwards he said "no wonder she likes to come over to scrapbook"...LOL!

Keri said...

You were all beautiful! & even watched a bit of it later on to make sure... :) & it showed nothing more than a normal UT family, raising their FIVE kids.
We loved watching it with you and hope to see you soon!

It was amazing - I DVR'd it and watched it with my mom, she got off the couch saying the same thing she always does, "How can people not see that my daughter, and her gay friends deserve all the rights that I have.." Syd is so damn cute - very, very well done. What an inspiration to the outside world your family is. Thank you for sharing, it was awesome.

The show was AWESOME! That would be so cool if it really did get picked up as a weekly show! Is that a possibility? It would be so awesome to have a two mom family on TV I think it would be really good for people to see we're just like everyone else. And the kids! Oh my God the kids! They are adorable, I sooo wanna steal Syd! Congrats on a great show it was great!

i missed it! Do you know when it will run again? I'm going to get the DVR ready now!

Patrice, Tristan, and I sat down to watch your TV debut...in comes Tristan "HEY, that's my friend Syd that we play with sometimes", I giggled, "how did she get on tv?", "hey, it's day there, how is it day there, not night?" "is Karen going to have the babies tonight?" "he (talking about Cam) crys alot". Patrice "holy crap that's a lot of mayo on that sandwhich!" I laughed...poor Janice, that her eating out came to a "screeching hault". WE LOVED IT! Thanks for the fun evening! :)

The show was wonderful!!You two are amazing moms, and your children are so beautiful. Syd stole the hearts of America, I'm sure. I felt so for her when she got the poop on her dress and then her hand!! It was poop, not puke right? Poor girl--those tears popped up so fast!
The sandwich scene was funny. I know that J said that she doesn't "cook", but I think SHE should have been making those sandwiches!! :D

What a great show! It left me really hoping that Discovery does more two mom/two dad family shows. It was so great to see one of "our" kinds of families portrayed so normally.
I loved hearing everyone's voice and seeing Sydney's personality shining through. All of your kids are beautiful.
Now that it's over, are you glad you did it? Were YOU happy with the way it turned out?

Just as I expected, perfect, funny, beautiful family... It was soooooo you two.... And, of course, you and J have the most beautiful kids ever!!!!! Corina

I got off my flight from Albuquerque at 9pm, rushed home and the first thing I did was watch the episode. It made me laugh - it made me cry and it made me believe that families do exist in our community that are strong and loving and loyal. Nice Job!!!

Usually just a lurker, but thought I would chime in here. I along with my (sometimes, well okay often) critical parter thought you guys were fabulous. I couldn't help but grin when she commented on the great sense of humor you two have together. It's obvious y'all are best friends too. Your kids are adorable!!!!

Kate said...

YA, your a star. Can I have your autograph? HEHE, it was great! Congrats!

Merr said...

Again I have to say that you guys did a fabulous job! Now the whole world gets to see you like we do. You guys are a great couple and i love how you are with eachother. How can you not laugh with eachother when you have 5 young kids. I had to watch it again at 9 because Cam was talking so much when we watched it at 6. I also love how you were so calm just pushing one baby out and then holding him while you waited to push the next baby out. J cracked me up with her language and her wanting to eat out. That is so me! I especially loved the end when the baby had pooped all over and poor Syd got it on her finger. I would have cried about that too!

K&J-what you are doing is great! Some people are surprised that although I'm fiscally conservative, I'm socially liberal--I truly believe that anyone who's in love should be able to be married and have a family if the so desire. It's obvious you are wonderful and attentive parents who provide a nurturing home and who set an excellent example of a loving and committed relationship. Sadly, the same cannot be said for a large percentage of us heterosexuals. I have one question...I recall you mentioning about how long it took for you to conceive Sydney. But I couldn't understand if you said six years or six attempts. Hopefully your show will air again so I can get my answer. I'm asking because I'm a 30 yr. old currently undergoing fertility treatments with IUI (going in soon for IUI #2) and was a bit taken aback to hear six yrs (maybe I misunderstood?). Not sure if you realize this but your story is also an inspiration for those of us undergoing such treatments. I'm always happy for and encouraged by couples who are able to conceive via IUI or IVF! Anyway, just wanted to congratulate you on the arrival of your youngest twins. Best wishes to you and your family!

Hi Praying for Motherhood.
It was in fact SIX YEARS !! UGH !
I had unexplained infertility. Not really sure how Syd was conceived. IUI's just didn't seem to work. We used fresh and frozen sperm.
Our little miracle.
Thanks for your comments. Wishing you the best of luck with IUI #2 and a healthy baby.
